Notice how your body and mind respond as you follow the exercise.

What did you notice during and after the exercise?

When it’s finished, take a moment to reflect:

  • How was your breathing before you started? And how is it now?
  • Was your mind more restless at the beginning? Do you notice any change afterward?
  • Did you feel your body relax as you focused on your breathing?

Paying attention to your breathing not only helps you relax, it also improves your ability to concentrate and helps you feel more in control, even in difficult situations.

Keys to Conscious Breathing

As you follow the video’s instructions, take note of these keys to doing the exercises correctly:

  • Find a quiet place: A space free of distractions will help you concentrate better.
  • Adopt a comfortable posture: Sit with your back straight and your feet resting on the floor.
  • Breathe slowly and deeply: Inhale through your nose, fill your lungs, and exhale slowly through your mouth.
  • Focus on the present moment: Put all your attention on how the air enters and leaves.

Design your own breathing keys.

With what you learned from the video, create a list of instructions you can share with your classmates or use yourself whenever you need to. Think of clear steps, such as:

  1. Find your space: Look for a quiet place where you can sit comfortably .
  2. Prepare to breathe: Close your eyes or keep them slightly open and relax your shoulders .
  3. Breathe with intention: Inhale deeply counting to 4, hold the air for 2 seconds, and exhale counting to 6 .
  4. Repeat several times: Do this until you notice that your body and mind are calmer .

When Should You Use This Technique?

Reflect on the moments when practicing conscious breathing could be useful:

  • Before an exam or a presentation?
  • After a situation that made you nervous or upset?
  • At a time of day when you feel tired or distracted?

Incorporating this practice into your routine doesn’t require much time or effort, but it can make a big difference in how you feel and how you face your day. Are you ready to try it?
